Game Recap: Baseball |

Rams Fall to Milligan in Three Game Series

 Bowen Field, Bluefield, VA

Game 1: Battling to the Finish

The Rams came out swinging in the series opener, refusing to fold after a strong early push from Milligan. Down 11–2 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Bluefield sparked a thrilling four-run rally behind big hits from Dylan Cutler, Nick Stergiou, and Sean Seale. Moises Aristy continued to be a steady presence, scoring twice in the final innings to help close the gap. Though the Rams ultimately fell 11–7, the comeback effort showed the team's determination to compete until the final out.

Game 2: Offensive Fireworks and a Fierce Rally

Game two saw a strong  Milligan team racking up 18 runs—but Bluefield didn't go quietly. Trailing 18–3 in the seventh, the Rams exploded for four more runs, with clutch hits from John Greenawalt, Sean Seale, and Nico Guerra. Aidan Brown was a standout at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a double. Moises Aristy added another home run to his season tally, continuing his hot streak at the plate. Despite Bluefield's offensive surge the Rams fell 18-7.

Game 3: Tight Contest, Early Lead, and Late Pressure

The third and final game of the day was a back-and-forth battle. After Milligan jumped ahead 2–0 in the top of the first, Bluefield answered right back with a run of their own. The fourth inning saw a spark from the Rams' offense—highlighted by a towering two-run homer from catcher Jacob Savoy and an RBI groundout from John Greenawalt—that tied the game at 4–4. Unfortunately, Milligan edged back ahead with a pair of late-inning hits, sealing the 8–4 win.

Key Performers:

  • Moises Aristy: 4-for-10 across the series, including a home run, two doubles, and multiple RBIs.

  • Aidan Brown: Delivered a perfect 3-for-3 performance in Game 2 with key extra-base hits.

  • Jacob Savoy: Launched a two-run homer in Game 3 to ignite the Rams' biggest inning of the day.

  • John Greenawalt: Consistent and clutch in the infield and at the plate, with several RBIs and a double.

While the series went to Milligan, Bluefield left the field with heads held high. The Rams will bounce back as they play Rio Grande University on Tuesday, April 8th.
