Rams Finish Weekend at CIU

The Bluefield Rams battled hard in a doubleheader against CIU (SC) on March 1, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina, but ultimately fell short in both contests. Despite the losses, the Rams demonstrated resilience and flashes of potential as they continued to build chemistry early in the season.

In the first game, Bluefield's offense struggled to get going, managing only two hits throughout the game. Though CIU capitalized on its opportunities, the Rams showed grit in defense, with pitcher Hallie Cox fighting through tough innings and giving her best effort. The offense, however, was unable to capitalize on scoring chances, leaving the Rams to fall 4-0.

The second game brought a much-needed spark from Bluefield's offense, with the Rams scoring three runs in the second inning. Mackenzie Franklin, Isabella Smith, and Delana Loflin were key contributors to the rally, with Loflin driving in two RBIs. While the game slipped away as the innings progressed, the Rams' ability to stay competitive and put together a scoring effort highlighted their potential. Ali Glover started on the mound for Bluefield and, despite some tough moments, showed her resilience as the team worked together to stay in the game.

Though Bluefield now sits at 1-5 for the season, the games showcased the team's determination and areas where they can improve. The Rams are eager to strengthen their offense and defense as they continue their journey through the season.
