BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Bluefield University men's soccer team fell 10-0 to Truett McConnell University on Saturday afternoon at the East River Soccer Complex in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
Prior to the match, seniors Kendell Britt and Isai Molina Acevedo were recognized for their contributions to the program during Senior Day festivities.
With the loss, the Rams move to 1-13-1 overall and 0-10-1 in AAC competition.
Truett McConnell struck first in the 14th minute and added nine second-half goals to pull away. Bluefield battled throughout and managed three total shots, including two on goal, despite facing a strong offensive effort from the visiting Bears.
Landon Puckett and Leo Muchiri each recorded a shot on target for the Rams, while Adan Chavez added another attempt. Goalkeepers Canaan Newman and Stanton Cerda combined for five saves while facing 26 total shots.
Defensively, Britt and Molina Acevedo anchored the back line in their final home appearances, logging full 90-minute efforts. Sebastian Armijos and Johan Valencia also provided key support in the midfield for Bluefield.
The Rams will return to action October 23, traveling to Union Commonwealth University for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
