COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Bluefield University men's soccer team fell 6-0 to Columbia College on Saturday afternoon in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.

With the loss, the Rams drop to 1-10-1 overall and 0-7-1 in AAC competition.

Columbia capitalized with two first-half goals and added four more after the break to secure the win. Despite the uphill battle, the Rams continued to compete and created several scoring chances throughout the contest.

Sebastian Armijos led BU with three shots, including one on goal, while Anthony Alvarado added a shot on target. Adan Chavez, Juan Soto, and Levi Crockett each contributed additional attempts to the Rams' total of eight shots.

Goalkeeper Canaan Newman made four saves while facing 21 total shots in 90 minutes of play. Defensively, Landon Puckett and Abdiel Donato helped anchor the back line against sustained pressure from the Koalas' attack.

The Rams return home to the East River Soccer Complex October 15 to host Montreat in another AAC matchup. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
