CLEVELAND, Ga. – Bluefield University softball opened its Georgia road trip dropping a pair of Appalachian Athletic Conference games Thursday to the Truett McConnell University Bears. The Rams lost a heartbreaker in game one 3-2 and fell in game two 8-0.
GAME ONE
TRUETT MCCONNELL 3, BLUEFIELD 2
INSIDE THE GAME

• Bluefield took a 1-0 lead in the second on a double steal. Chloe Hicks swiped second base and Breyana Ellett scampered home for the game's first run.
• The Rams made it 2-0 in the third on a run-scoring single by Brooklynn Schwartz.
• The Bears tied the game with two runs in the fourth.
• TMU scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth.
• Bluefield was held to two hits by Truett McConnell pitchers.

LEADERS

• Schwartz and MacKenzie Franklin had BU's hits.
• Hallie Cox suffered the loss in the circle. Cox pitched a complete game and struck out three.

INSIDE THE GAME

• The contest was scoreless until the fourth inning when Truett McConnell scored three runs.
• TMU added five runs in the fifth to move ahead 8-0 and end the game on the run rule.

LEADERS

• Camryn Dilla, Kenidy Harris, and Hicks had Bluefield's hits, all singles.
• Ali Glover was tagged with the pitching loss.
