BLUEFIELD – Bryce Dees struck out 11 and tossed a four hitter, and
Andres Vega hit for the cycle to lead the Bluefield University Rams past the Bryan College Lions in the conclusion of a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference contest, Friday evening at Bowen Field.
Bryan took game one of the series 13-2 on Thursday, and the Lions won the opening game of Friday's doubleheader in an exciting 10 inning game, 19-16.

INSIDE THE GAME
- Bryan opened the scoring with two in the first and scored in each inning except for the second.
- Bluefield scored single runs in the third and fifth innings.
LEADERS
- Matt Beisecker had two of Bluefield's eight hits.
- Tyrone Woods worked four-and-a-third innings and struck out four in suffering the loss.
- Nick Duncan pitched three-and-two-third innings and struck out two.

GAME ONE
BRYAN 19, BLUEFIELD 16 – 10 INNINGS
INSIDE THE GAME
- The Lions took a 5-0 lead with two in the first and three in the third.
- The Rams tied the game in the bottom of the third on a run-scoring double by Nick Guerra, a ground out by Moises Aristy, an RBI single by Felix LaRose, an RBI double by Bryce Medlock, and a run-scoring single by Will Cole.
- Bryan pushed its lead to 15-6 with four in each the fourth and fifth, and two in the sixth.
- Bluefield plated four runs in the sixth, the big hit a two-run double by Medlock.
- The Rams scored five times in the ninth to send the game to extra innings. BU loaded the bases with no outs and scored runs on a hit batter and a ground out. Two more came home on an error, and Medlock's single to left tied the game.
- Bryan scored four times in the 10th.
LEADERS
- Medlock was 3-for-6 with four RBI.
- Guerra, LaRose, Aristy, and Cole each had two hits and knocked in two runs.

INSIDE THE GAME
- For the third straight game Bryan took the initial lead.
- Bluefield tied at two in the bottom of the second and took the lead in the third on run-scoring singles by Beisecker and Vega.
- BU scored two more in the fifth on Vega's two-run homer.
LEADERS
- Dees pitched a seven inning complete game allowing only four hits and striking out 11 Bryan Lions.
- Vega was 4-for-5 and hit for the cycle with three RBIs.
- LaRose was 3-for-4 with a run batted in.
- Beisecker was 2-for-3 and knocked in four runs.
NEXT IN LINE
- The Rams open a three-game set with Ohio Christian, Friday, Feb. 23. The teams play a single game Friday at Bowen Field and a doubleheader on Saturday.
