MIDWAY, Ky. – The Bluefield University men's volleyball team took to the court for the first time since March 31, 2022, and picked up the program's first win since March 24, 2022, Saturday afternoon at Midway University. The Rams dropped their opening match to Talladega College 27-29, 25-27, 14-25. BU rebounded to win its first match of the season against host Midway 25-20, 25-20, 25-15.
In the opening match 
Benedict Somes led the way with 23 assists and five digs. 
Kyle Pietrzak collected nine kills, and 
General Smith had three blocks. Against Midway, Somes paced the Rams with 24 assists. Pietrzak and 
Mason Lloyd each collected 12 kills. 
Noah Clements finished with 10 digs.The matches marked the debut of new men's volleyball coach Keven John at Bluefield University.
The Rams, 1-1 on the season, play their first home match of the season, Tuesday against Rio Grande. First serve is at 7 p.m.
