BLUEFIELD – Bluefield University softball dropped an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader to Brenau University, Sunday afternoon at Graham Rec Park. The Tigers took the opening game 4-2 and won the nightcap 11-6.
Game One
Brenau 4, Bluefield 2
Brenau carried a 4-0 lead into the seventh inning. The Rams scored their only runs in the bottom of the seventh. Bluefield had four hits in the game, two by Macy Martin.
Game Two
Brenau 11, Bluefield 6
The Rams jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Brenau tied in the second and scored five in the third to gain the lead they never relinquished. Martin had a two-run homer along with two hits and two RBIs. Kristina Sanchez also had a pair of hits and two runs batted in, and Hallie Cox had two hits.
The Rams are back in action Tuesday, at Tennessee Wesleyan.
