BLUEFIELD – The Bluefield University Rams baseball team defeated the Johnson University Royals, Friday afternoon on Senior Day to complete a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series sweep. The Rams defeated the Royals 11-4 in the series finale. Thursday BU took 7-6 and 10-5 wins.
FRIDAY
BLUEFIELD 11, JOHNSON 4
The Rams scored six times in the third inning to take a commanding lead on Senior Day.
David Meech was 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
Brady Joslyn had three hits and batted in four runs while
Max Aristy had a pair of hits and RBIs.
Andrew Arguello got the win. Arguello worked six innings and struck out three.

THURSDAY
GAME ONE
BLUEFIELD 7, JOHNSON 6
Bluefield won in walk-off fashion as Meech slammed an three-run opposite field home run to left in the bottom of the ninth inning. Trailing 6-4 with one out and two on, Meech drove the ball over the left field wall for the victory. He finished the day with a pair of hits and four runs batted in.
Dylan Cutler and
Bryce Medlock each had two hits.
Johnny Medina homered for the Rams and had a sac fly that brought in another run. Lowrey got the win in relief, pitching three-and-two third innings and striking out five.
GAME TWO
BLUEFIELD 10, JOHNSON 5
Johnson held the early lead before BU scored three in the second and five times in the third to pull away.
Johnny Medina had a pair of home runs for the Rams and
Kevin Torres also hit a long ball. Medina finished with four RBIs. Meech and
Reece Genter each had two hits. Troy Liebert pitched three innings to gain the victory.
The Rams wrap up their home season with a single nine-inning game against Milligan, Tuesday at Bowen Field. Game time is 1 p.m.
