BLUEFIELD – Reinhardt University used the long ball to take a three-game series from the Bluefield University Rams. The Eagles hit 10 home runs in the three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series. RU won Thursday's game 14-1 before sweeping Friday's doubleheader 20-6 and 8-1.
THURSDAY
REINHARDT 14, BLUEFIELD 1
Reinhardt's Tucker Zdunich hit the game's first pitch over the left field wall for an opposite field home run. Zdunich hit two more long balls in his next two at-bats. Reinhart hit four home runs in the game. The Rams managed five hits in the contest.
Max Aristy had two singles, and
Briley Harlan and RBI single.
FRIDAY
GAME ONE
REINHARDT 20, BLUEFIELD 6
The visiting Eagles hit four more homers in the opening game of the doubleheader. Zdunich was 4-for-5 with another home run. Reinhardt hit five home runs in the contest.
Dylan Cutler was 3-for-4 for Bluefield.
GAME TWO
REINHARDT 8, BLUEFIELD 1
BU's
Brady Joslyn and Aiden Brown were both 2-for-3, but Reinhardt hit their 10
th home run of the series and took an 8-1 win.
The Rams are back in action Tuesday when Alice Lloyd College visits Bowen Field for a non-conference nine inning game.
