BLUEFIELD – Volante Carroll's putback with four-tenths of a second on the clock lifted the Bluefield University Rams to a 70-68 Appalachian Athletic Conference win over the Bryan College Lions and made Rams coach Richard Morgan the all-time winning basketball coach in BU history. The win pushed Morgan ahead of Mark Blevins who had 201 wins at Bluefield.

• The teams were tied at 13 with 12 minutes to play in the first half.
• Bryan went on a 29-16 run to close the half and lead 42-29 at the break.
• Bryan shot 60% in the first half; Bluefield connected on 31% of its shots.
• The Rams opened the second half on a 7-0 run.
• BU took the lead with just over 12 minutes to play on a Elijah White steal and layup by Carroll.
• Christian Bullock's basket with 90 seconds left tied the game at 65.

• Carroll stuck back a missed Bluefield shot with .04 on the clock to put Bluefield ahead 70-68.

LEADERS

• Sage McLellan led the Rams with 22 points. He had five rebounds and three assists.
• Jamal Hinkle came off the bench to score 14 points and grab five rebounds.
• Carroll scored eight points, including the game winner, and pulled down a season-high 14 rebounds. He also had two steals and a block.
• Bullock finished with 11 points and a pair of assists and steals.
• White had 20 points with three assists.
