Rams take twinbill and series from CIU

BLUEFIELD - The NAIA No. 21 Bluefield University Rams took a Saturday afternoon doubleheader from Columbia International University to take the weekend series and remain in second place in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. BU defeated the CIU Rams 5-1 in the opener, and took the nightcap 18-7.

  • BU scored four in the sixth to take the lead.

GAME TWO

  • Bluefield exploded for five runs in the first and seven in the second and never looked back.
  • Taylor Meaux hit a pair of three-run home runs to power the Bluefield offense.

LEADERS

  • Meaux had three hits, a triple and two home runs, and knocked in seven runs.
  • Clay Wisner was 4-for-5 and had five RBIs.
  • Max Aristy had three hits.
  • Bryce Medlock and Lewis had two hits and two RBIs apiece.
  • Tyler Lowrey worked the final four innings to get the win.
