BLUEFIELD - Bluefield University baseball opened the 2022 season with a doubleheader sweep of the Carolina University Rams Tuesday afternoon at Bowen Field. The Rams took the opener 17-8, and claimed the nightcap 17-7.
Eligha Lewis had a strong day at the plate for the Rams picking up six hits and driving home 11 runs in the games.
GAME ONE
The Rams opened a 6-0 lead, scoring twice in the fourth and four times in the second.
BU took control in the fifth on back-to-back home runs by Lewis and
Reece Genter. Lewis' was a grand slam, Genter's a solo shot.

After a 7-7 tie in the third inning, Bluefield scored 10 unanswered runs to take the nightcap.
