Women's soccer loses tough one to CIU

BLUEFIELD - Bluefield University women's soccer put forth a strong effort but fell short Friday evening against the Columbia International University Rams, losing 2-1.
CIU scored the first goal of the game in the 23rd minute, then added to its lead in the 53rd minute. In the 86th minute Bella Cox scored BU's first goal of the season to cut the CIU lead in half. The BU Rams rallied but could not find the goal in the final four minutes of the contest.
Emily Ledford had nine saves for Bluefield, who hosts Union College, Wednesday.
