BLUEFIELD - Men's soccer opened the 2020 season Tuesday evening at the East River Soccer Complex, dropping a 6-1 decision to the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs.
Wesleyan came into the game as the AAC Preseason No. 1 team and the Bulldogs bit the Rams early, with a goal in the 12
th minute by Billy Boag. TWU got a pair of back-to-back goals in the 42
nd and 43
rd minutes from Harry Baggerly and George Green. Baggely added a second goal and TWU took a 4-nil lead into the intermission.
Michael Gutu scored the Rams first goal of the season in the 55
th minute, off an assist from
Leo Garcia.
Montel McKenzie and Spencer Asamoah had goals for TWU in the 58
th and 70
th minute to round out the scoring.
