BLUEFIELD - Men's soccer opened the 2020 season Tuesday evening at the East River Soccer Complex, dropping a 6-1 decision to the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs.
Wesleyan came into the game as the AAC Preseason No. 1 team and the Bulldogs bit the Rams early, with a goal in the 12^th minute by Billy Boag. TWU got a pair of back-to-back goals in the 42^nd and 43^rd minutes from Harry Baggerly and George Green. Baggely added a second goal and TWU took a 4-nil lead into the intermission.
Michael Gutu scored the Rams first goal of the season in the 55^th minute, off an assist from Leo Garcia.
Montel McKenzie and Spencer Asamoah had goals for TWU in the 58^th and 70^th minute to round out the scoring.
Rams goalkeeper Keegan Brade had 18 saves. TWU out-shot BC 32-3.
