Men's soccer stops Truett McConnell

CLEVELAND, Ga. - Chris Dandridge's goal in the waning minutes of the match lifted men's soccer to a 2-1 win over Truett McConnell University, Saturday afternoon.
The homestanding Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 44th minute. The Rams wasted little time after the intermission, tying the game in the 47th minute by Drake Cullens, with the assist by Connor Vencill. The game remained knotted at one until the 87th minute when Dandridge found the back of the net, the assist going to Ian Sumrall. It was Dandridge's first goal as a Ram.
"This road win was a massive three point. Truett is a side that has shown themselves to stand toe-to-toe with the big dogs, even though the results may not show it. Drake Cullens has been so key for us, as he's been extremely flexible to play on both ends of the ball. Defensively he puts in a shift and then on the offensive piece is able to play out wide," said Head Coach Justin Morton. "Jonathan Gonzalez and Gabriel Santos split shifts in a very difficult midfield and looked strong. Scoring the game winning goal for us was an injured Chris Dandridge, who has huge character to grind out that opportunity.
"We are looking forward to another battle against CIU and are hopeful as we are coming into form."
The Rams travel to Columbia International University, Tuesday.
