Baseball sweeps St. Andrews to take weekend series

LAURINBURG, N.C. - Baseball swept a Sunday doubleheader from AAC foe St. Andrews to take the weekend series from the Knights two games to one.
Sunday's first game saw Alex Perkins pitch six innings, strike out six and give up three hits and earn the win for BC on the mound as the Rams got the 13-3 win. Jordan Huntley was 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and Andreas Holtzer had a three-run homer. Jose Santana, Carlos Torres and Elianel Mejia each had two hits and knocked in a run.
In game two the Rams pushed across a run in the top of the seventh, breaking a seven-all tie to gain an 8-7 win. Lenyn Napoleon was 3-for 4 win an RBI. Mejia knocked in three runs and Holtzer had two RBI. Kody Gardere pitched the final inning and gained the win. Justin Coleman worked the first six innings for BC.
The Rams won the series after St. Andrews took the first game of the series 12-5, Friday. Rain forced postponement of Saturday's games until Sunday afternoon.
