TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. - Baseball gained a doubleheader sweep of Toccoa Falls College on Saturday to sweep the three game weekend series from the Screaming Eagles. The Rams won game one 7-3, then took the nightcap 10-7 in dramatic fashion.
In the opener, home runs by
Jordan Huntley and
Leyan Napoleon in the sixth inning helped the Rams to victory.
Andreas Holtzer and
Ozzie Millet were also strong at the plate as they each collected two hits. Steven Estep, the second of three Bluefield pitchers, picked up the win.
In the nightcap,
Marcus Espinal belted a three-run homer in the top of the seventh to break a 7-7 tie and give the Rams the win.
Huntley was 3-for-4 at the plate and had his fourth home run of the young season.
Edgardo Bernard was 3-for-3. Holtzer, Espinal, Napoleon,
Carlos Torres, and Joseph Cardona all had two hits in the second game for Bluefield.
Justin Meza got the game two win while Justin Coleman earned the save.
The Rams, now 6-1 and winners of five straight, return to the diamond next weekend against the University of Rio Grande.
