BLUEFIELD - Jermiah Jenkins fired in 21 points while Niquan Cousins and Nick Roberts each added 14 and Kevon Wright tossed in 11 points to lead men's basketball to a 90-81 AAC win over Truett McConnell, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium.
After Truett hit a three to start the came, the Rams went on a run including back-to-back buckets from Roberts to take a lead it would not relinquish the remainder of the game. The Rams went up by as many as 14 before taking a 45-33 halftime lead.
In the second half TMU cut the Bluefield lead to eight with just under 13 to play, but Cousins answered TMU's charges and helped BC keep the lead in double digits.
The Bears made a final charge late in the game and were within three points with 39 seconds to play but the Rams closed it out at the free throw line for the final margin of victory.
In addition to his 14 points Cousins had seven rebounds and Roberts had five boards. Jenkins dished out five assists and had a pair of steals.
