BLUEFIELD – On a night where
Jorge Concepcion III surpassed the 1,000 point plateau as a Bluefield Ram, he and his teammates defeated the Piedmont International University Bruins 88-61 at the Dome Gymnasium.
Concepcion entered the game needing 19 points to reach the milestone and with 11:28 remaining in the game he hit a shot that gave him 1,001 for his career at BC. Concepcion finished with 22 points.
The Rams led throughout, taking an early lead in a game which had seven technical fouls assessed between the two teams, all coming in the first half in which the Rams built a lead as high as 17 points.
In the second half BC's lead grew as high as 29 points against the Bruins, who defeated BC 73-62 in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Jan. 5.
Concepcion topped the Rams' scoring column with a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Ty'quon Reid finished with 18 points,
Jermiah Jenkins added 10 and
Niquan Cousins added 10.
