Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MADISONVILLE, Tenn. – Women's softball opened the 2018 season with a doubleheader split at Hiwassee College. The Rams dropped game one before rallying in the final inning to claim game two against the Tigers.
Game 1
Riley O'Neal was 2-for-3 at the plate in her BC debut and Morgan Sawyers was also 2-for-3,  and Gabrielle Melick had Bluefield's lone RBI.
Game 2
Eryn Haley's hit in the top of the seventh scored Melick, BC's second run in the inning and the Rams claimed the 4-3 win. Melick, Haley,  and Mary Blake Avery each had two hits in the game for the Rams.
Laken Sparks had the decisions for Bluefield in both games, suffering the loss in game one and the win in the nightcap.
The Rams (1-1) open AAC play on Saturday, Feb. 17 with a doubleheader at Reinhardt.
