BLUEFIELD – Despite a valiant effort, the Bluefield women's soccer team came out on the short end of a 3-0 match against Truett McConnell University, Saturday afternoon at the East River Soccer Complex.
It was too much McCall for the Rams as TMU's Jennifer and Megan McCall accounted for all the visitor's scoring. Jennifer McCall scored the game's first goal in the 13th minute with an assist from Megan. Megan then scored in the 40th minute to make it 2-0 in favor of TMU. Megan scored the final goal in the 80th minute.
Amanda Brown had 12 saves in goal for Bluefield, who is now 2-4 overall and 1-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. Truett McConnell moved to 3-2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the league.
The Rams return to action Tuesday night when they host Kentucky Christian in a non-conference match.
