Box Score PIKEVILLE, Ky. - Despite getting 27 points and 15 rebounds from Cordaris Townes, the Bluefield men's basketball team fell 104-93 to Asbury (Ky.) in the Pikeville Tip Off Classic, Saturday, Oct. 29.
Townes and the Rams were tied with Asbury at 80 in the second half before falling victim to a 24-13 Asbury run to end the game.
Jorge Concepcion dropped in 23 points for the Rams while Axel Magnuson added 11 and Gage Yesbeck 10. Yesbeck also pulled down eight boards.
Trenton Thompson led Asbury with 22 points and Bushe Ramabu had 10 rebounds.
The Rams return to the Bluegrass State for their next three games, all in the NAIA Southeastern Challenge at Union College in Barbourville, Ky. The Rams will face No. 6 Keiser University on Thursday, Nov. 3, No. 15 St. Thomas University on Friday, Nov. 4 and Southeastern University, who is receiving votes in the NAIA Top 25, on Saturday, Nov. 5.
BC will open its home season on Sunday, Nov. 6 against Oakwood University.
