CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Marion Harris rushed for 189 yards and two touchdowns but it was not enough as the Campbellsville Tigers defeated the Bluefield College Rams 40-14, Saturday afternoon in the Bluegrass State.
Harris became the third Ram to rush for more than 100 yards in a game this season as he toted the pigskin 25 times. The Rams took the opening kickoff and drove 64 yards in six plays for the score. Harris capping the drive with a six yard run. Drake Presley's kick gave Bluefield a 7-0 lead with 12:28 to play in the opening quarter.
Campbellsville pulled ahead 12-7 on a safety, field goal and a touchdown before midway through the second quarter Harris ripped off a 49-yard touchdown run. Presley's kick put the Rams back on top 14-12 at the 5:57 mark of the second stanza. That would, however, be the final points Bluefield mustered In the contest as the Tigers scored 28 unanswered to claim the 40-14 win.
Cason Whitt completed 5-of-16 passes for 59 yards with an interception. Mason Maples and Corey Mabry each had a pair of catches.
Georgetown's Jacob Russell completed 23-of-39 passes for 359 yards and three scores. The Tigers amassed 570 total yards of offense.
Defensively for the Rams Ernest Moore led the way with nine tackles. Anthony Rivers and Frank Brooks both brought down six ball carriers and C.J. Toussiant and Renardo Brown had five each.
Bluefield (0-5, 0-1) returns to Mitchell Stadium next Saturday to host Reinhardt. Campbellsville improved to 2-2 with the win.
