WALESKA, Ga. -- After dropping 7-2 and 3-2 decisions to Reinhardt on Saturday, the Bluefield College baseball team took an 8-1 win over the Eagles on Tuesday afternoon in the series finale at Ken White Field.
Bluefield (23-22, 7-17 AAC) tallied just eight combined hits in the Saturday doubleheader before cranking out 14 in Tuesday's win. Meanwhile,
Alex Haas (4-5),
Cory Niten and
Chaz Miller surrendered just four hits to Reinhardt (25-24, 12-12 AAC), with the Eagles' Â only run coming on a solo homer in the sixth.Â
An RBI double from
Tyler Timmer and an infield single from
Jacob Schober each plated runs to give the Rams a 2-0 lead in the third. Bluefield then plated runs in the next three innings to open a 6-0 advantage.
Tyler Rome doubled in a run in the fourth and
Sawyer McLamb added a two-RBI single in the fifth.
Ben Rife scored from third in the sixth on a wild pitch.
Haas tossed five innings for the Rams en route to the win, allowing three hits and one run while striking out six. Niten and Miller closed out the final four frames by allowing just one base runner the rest of the way.
Five Rams had a multi-hit outing, led by three-hit performances from both Schober and McLamb.Â
The Rams play their final road game of the season on Thursday, taking on Ferrum College.
