BLUEFIELD, Va. --
Chris McCollister had a five-RBI day, while both
Tyler Timmer and Will Kane had four RBI apiece in Wednesday's twinbill sweep over Johnson University by scores of 11-2 and 13-0 at Bowen Field.
The Rams move to 16-11 having swept double headers each of the last two days. The Rams are now 8-2 at Bowen Field this season. Johnson University dropped to 1-10 with the pair of losses.
Game 1The Rams scored at least a run in each of the first five innings, en route to the 11-2 win. McCollister was a perfect 4-for-4 at the dish--logging an RBI double in the first, an RBI triple in the fourth and a two-RBI single in the fifth, while adding another single in the second inning.
Braden Freeman also had a multi-RBI game in the opener, with his two-run single coming in a five-run fifth inning for the Rams. Kane led off the frame with a solo home run.
Trayvond Brooks earned the win, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out four.
Game 2Bluefield continued to roll in the second game, once again scoring in five of the seven innings.
The Rams got off to a fast start, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first. A McCollister single brought in
Ryan Lawson before Kane hit his second homer of the day, a three-run shot to make it 4-0.
A sacrifice fly from
Nic Ratliff in the third and a Timmer triple in the fourth made it 6-0 before the Rams hammered out seven hits and scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Tyler Rome later added a two-RBI single and Freeman singled to drive in another run. A two-run homer from Timmer closed the Rams' scoring in the inning.
Bluefield tacked on one more run with Schilling scoring on a
Ben Rife double in the sixth as BC took the 13-0 win.
Addison Wood (3.0 IP),
Cory Niten (2.0 IP),
Kaleb Houchins (1.0 IP) and
Alex Haas (1.0 IP) combined for the four-hit shutout.
Bluefield makes its return to Appalachian Athletic Conference play this weekend, traveling for a three-game set against Montreat College. Play on both Saturday and Sunday is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
