Box Score ATHENS, Tenn. - All night long, under pressure. Yes, those were the names of hit songs in the 1980s but Wednesday night it described the Appalachian Athletic Conference game between the Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs and the Bluefield College Rams. TWC pressed from the Rams from the get-go and in the end claimed a 76-65 win.
In the first half it was the Rams who held the lead, going up by as many as seven points before TWC made a run late in the half to take the lead and take a 40-32 advantage into the locker room. In the second half the Bulldogs forged ahead by 13 before the Rams got to within two points at 53-51. However TWC kicked their full-court press into high gear, forced turnovers and finished the game on a 23-12 run for the win.
The TWC pressure forced 24 Bluefield turnovers and the Bulldogs pulled down 41 rebounds compared to 33 for the Rams.
Zeke Williams topped the BC scoring column with 17 points. Joseph McClain added 15 points. He added five rebounds and a pair of assists. Alonzo Howard scored 11 and had a season-high 14 rebounds with three steals.
Tennessee Wesleyan's Leland Robinson led all scorers with 25 points and had a team-high 13 rebounds. Trey Suttles scored 23 with six boards and a pair of steals and Devante Jenkins tallied 11 points with nine rebounds.
The Rams are now 8-3 and 1-1 in the AAC. Tennessee Wesleyan is 5-1 and 3-1 in the conference. BC is back on the court tonight (Thursday) at Bryan.
