WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands scored 21-straight points to close the first half and open a 42-21 lead en route to a season-closing 63-28 defeat for the Rams on Saturday.

Rodrell Smith scored on a 74-yard carry to square the game 21-21 in the second quarter, but a Cumberlands touchdown followed by two Ram turnovers which the hosts turned into scores earned the Patriots a 42-21 lead at the break. The three Cumberlands scores came in less than three minutes' time as they were able to capitalize on the Rams' miscues.
