BLUEFIELD, Va. --
The Bluefield College football program is still seeking both its first home victory and its first win against a fellow NAIA opponent since returning to varsity competition, and will have a chance to check off both accomplishments this Saturday as they welcome Bethel University (0-5) to Mitchell Stadium on Saturday, for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Matchup
Bluefield welcomes the Wildcats of Bethel  University to Mitchell Stadium for the first time after taking the trek to McKenzie, Tenn., for the first two meetings between the programs. The Wildcats took both contests, 56-28 in 2012 and 41-25 last season.

Bluefield is coming off a 59-28 defeat to No. 18 Cumberland, despite hanging close to the Bulldogs in the first half. Bethel is winless on the season at 0-5, falling at home to Reinhardt last week, 63-35.

Scouting the Wildcats
Bethel has struggled to put points on the board thus far in 2014, but broke out with 35 points against Reinhardt last week, thanks in part to a pair of kickoff returns  of 96 and 90 yards from Stoney Burns. In their previous four games, the Wildcats had scored a total of 32 points.

Jaquell Fitts leads the Wildcats' rush game with 55 carries, netting 211 yards on the year.  Kerry Sellers has completed 44-of-102 pass attempts for 433 yards, while Quincy
Walden is the team's leading receiver with 10 catches for 130 yards.

Tyler Murray leads the team with 35 tackles on the year. Glenn Dominick and Josh Burns each have 30, with Dominick leading the team with two sacks.

Setting New Marks
Ashten Dixon tossed for 214 yards against Cumberland last week, setting a new program record for passing yards in a single game. Dixon completed 15-of-24 attempts, including a 68-yard catch and run touchdown to Richard Johnson on the game's first play. His 214 yards also pushed him above 1,000 passing yards in his career--the first since BC returned its program.

Who's Gonna Get It?
The Rams have eight different rushers with at least 10 attempts on the season, while 11 players have caught a pass this season, giving offensive coordinator Aaron Mingo a variety of options with his attack.

Gunn's Transition
James Gunn's transition to the football field has proved to be a success. The senior and former soccer player had four of his five kickoffs against Cumberland result in a touchback. Only one kick, which was still booted to the goal line, was returned and only for 11 yards. Gunn also went a perfect 4-for-4 on his PATs.

Mabry Making Plays
Former QB Cory Mabry is continually growing in his role as a wide receiver this year. Against Cumberland, he caught three balls for 40 yards, including his first career TD reception.
