COLUMBIA, Ky. – Facing its second of three straight ranked opponents to conclude the 2013 season, the Bluefield College football team was defeated 51-3 by No. 17 Lindsey Wilson College at Blue Raider Stadium, Saturday in a Mid-South Conference East Division contest.

The Rams' (0-10, 0-5) sole score came from a 29-yard
Caleb Frye field goal in the second quarter. The score capped a 15-play, 66-yard drive and pulled the Rams within seven, 10-3.

But, BC wouldn't score the rest of the afternoon as the Blue Raiders (8-2, 3-2 MSC East) pulled way for the win, including scoring 28 points in the final quarter.

The Rams could only amass 215 yards of total offense, 117 coming by rush and 98 by pass. Conversely, LWC piled up 503 yards of total offense splitting yardage 243/260 between the ground and the air.

Clifton Bishop had a meager 37 yards rushing to lead BC's ground game, while
Adrian Pope and Sam Bennet had 35 and 33 yards, respectively.

Armani Ford completed 8-for-13 passes for 65 yards, with a long of 22 going to
Richard Johnson.
Joshua Erby was 4-for-9 for 33 yards. Erby threw a pair of picks, while Ford had one as well.

Johnson led the receiving corps with 58 yards.

Daniel Griffin had a busy day punting, sending seven kicks a total of 250 yards. He averaged 35.7 yards per punt with a long of 47.

BC's defense was led by
Frank Brooks' game high 13 tackles, followed by
Robert Boatright's 10. The duo had 12 and eight solo tackles, respectively.

Brooks and
Anthony Rivers each grabbed interceptions for the BC defense.

Lindsey Wilson was led by Jake Tieken's 21-for-32 passing for 260 yards. He threw three scores and two interceptions. Rome Cotton totaled 118 rushing yards on 19 attempts, scoring one touchdown.

Three of Lindsey Wilson's eight scoring drives took double-digit plays, while five scoring drives were longer than 50 yards.

Bluefield wraps up its 2013 slate Saturday, Nov. 16 against University of the Cumberlands. The Patriots (9-0, 5-0 MSC East) are currently ranked No. 2 and defeated Kentucky Christian, 38-0, on Saturday.
