BLUEFIELD, W. Va. – The Bluefield College football team concluded its 2013 season, Saturday afternoon with a 56-14 loss to No. 1 University of Cumberlands at Mitchell Stadium in a Mid-South Conference East Division matchup.

The Rams conclude their season with an 0-11, 0-6 MSC mark, while the visiting Patriots are now 10-0 and 6-0 in conference play.

D'Angelo Jordan carried the visiting Patriots to victory, rushing for 143 yards and three scores. Adam Craig tossed for 88 yards and added 64 more on the ground. The freshman quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two more.

Bluefield was led by
Joshua Erby's 156 passing yards (11-for-18), while throwing one pick.
Adrian Pope ran for 84 yards and a score. Sam Bennett added BC's other touchdown and rushed for 45 yards on the day.

The top-ranked Patriots built a 21-0 lead before the Rams were able to get on the board in the second quarter. Bennet pushed the Rams into the endzone on a one yard run, as the Rams wrapped up a six-play, 73 yard drive with 8:07 left on the clock in the opening half.

Cumberlands answered with a drawn out drive, taking 4:44 off the clock on their 10-play, 82-yard drive. Craig scored his first touchdown of the afternoon to give UC a 28-7 lead at intermission.

UC came out of the half and scored three times in the third to put the game well out of reach. Craig and Jordan cashed in with their second and third respective rushing touchdowns on the day, while Core Washington returned a BC fumble 56 yards for a score with 1:04 remaining in the third for a 49-7 lead.

Zeke Eier broke through for a one-yard score capping another lengthy, time consuming drive from UC—10 plays, 80 yards, covering 6:22.

Bluefield posted the final points with 3:40 left on the clock, as
Adrian Pope ran in a two-yard score. The play finished a 10-play drive for the Rams, covering 75 yards in 3:22.

The Patriots outgained BC 525-354 in total yards, including a 433-213 edge in rushing yards. Bluefield recorded more passing yards, 185-108.

David Gianesin's four catches for 53 yards led BC's receivers.
Matt Hollandsworth nearly had a touchdown reception for the Rams, but was called down at the one-yard line on his 24-yard catch, leaving Bennett to run in the score on the next play.

The Rams' defense was led by
Ernest Moore's 11 total tackles, seven solo and four assisted.
Frank Brooks and
Robert Boatright followed with eight total tackles apiece.

Bluefield recorded no sacks in the game, and concludes the 2013 season with 15.5 sacks. As part of the Rams' and Food City's "Sack the Quarterback" campaign, the number of sacks will be matched with sacks of groceries to be donated to a local food bank.
