Michael Callaghan

       Michael Callaghan is in his second season as head coach of the women's soccer program at Bluefield College.
    After graduating from BC in 2015, Callaghan went on to coach U-14 boys club soccer for the Roanoke Star Soccer Club based out of Roanoke, Virginia. 
    While coaching there, he also oversaw and implemented successful programming for Roanoke College's Club Soccer program for both the men's and women's team.
    After his successful stint at the Roanoke based clubs, Michael moved on to become the assistant at Ferrum College (NCAA DIII) for the Men's Soccer Program.  In his time there, the Panther's boasted a 5-4-2 conference record and earned a fourth seed birth into the conference tournament, making it to the quarter-finals of the USA South Athletic Conference contest.
    As a player, he played collegiately at Mountain State University and Bluefield College as an attacking midfielder.  During his three years at Bluefield he played and started in 60 matches for the Appalachian Athletic Conference side, achieving a player high of 16 goals and 20 assists in all contests.  In his last two seasons with the team, he was named captain and led his group to a 5-3-1 conference record his senior year.  
    He was awarded: Second-Team Mid-South All-Conference, First-Team AAC All-Conference, NCCAA All-American, 2x Daktronics Scholar Athlete and a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society.
Callaghan also spent playing for the West Virginia King's Warriors  Premier Development League for two seasons.
    He lives in Bluefield, W. Va. with his wife Summer Callaghan.
