Kendall Haynes made history in November by becoming the first Bluefield College cross country runner to compete in the NCCAA National Championships.

Haynes, a native of Cana, Va., posted a qualifying time of 29:12.9 at the SandShark Invitational on Oct. 25, in the event hosted by University of South Carolina at Beaufort.

The sophomore then clocked a time of 30:16.8 at the national meet, battling cold temperatures and snow at the Nov. 15 meet hosted by Houghton College in New York.
